I have an 8n with a noisy PTO, in ballpark terms, how hard is that to repair and how expensive? Otherwise the tractor is in great shape. Thanks!

Cam blocks - 2@$40 ea.
Bushing - 1@20. ea.

Sundry gaskets and seals while you are in there.

Half a day R&R the PTO if you are quick.

Depends on what's causing the noise.

If it's the PTO bearing, that's cheap & easy. Pull the shaft out & replace it & the bearing. Or if it's really the ORC, replace that.

You need to pin point the source of the noise.

Bad ORC?

PTO engaged?

Noise increase w/ shaft RPM's?

Does the PTO disengage while in use?

Remove the inspection plates & see if you can better pin point the source?

Just to add what they said...is it making a thumping noise when you are using it? Or a big vibration you can feel through the floorboard?
