Apparently I screwed something up in my first post so i'll type it again. On our way home we stopped and looked at 2 tractors to end the day. one being an 8n and the other a jubilee. The 8n which I couldn't read the serial # had a different manifold that what I think is a nan manifold. I didn't take any pics. Although it doesn't have the correct gas tank to be a nan. The block had 8n d cast into it. What does that mean. Its a front mount. Oil pressure guage didn't work so I dunno how that was. We had to jump the solenoid to start it and it didn't sound real healthy upon first start up. Rear tires were not great, hydraulic pump knocked. He has a new aftermarket hood, dog legs, and grill for it. He wants 1300. I didn't even make an offer. Sediment bowl had 1/3 full of rust. I drove it forward and reverse and all gears were good. No play in the rear or front, although the right front radius arm had quite the welded patch job. What makes me wonder is the different larger manifold. Like what was on the nan. I would only guess beings we've been through a rebuild before at the cost of a grand it's gonna need rebuilt. Jumping it it had a hard time turning over. It's still 6v and he has an 8v bat in it and I believe he had it hooked up backwards anyhow. as much as he was trying to get that battery to charge making sparky sparkies I was waiting for the battery to blow. The other is a 54 jubilee, tin isn't good, except the fenders, has some cozy cab on it which a tree fell on. It does have live power. And also a loader. Hard starting. It does have inner wheel weights which I would love to have. 1 good rear tire and both rear rims are goos. He wants a grand for it. I personally didn't think it was worth that much but to each his own. I didn't hear that one run. May be a nice parts tractor of our 53 I guess. Rear seals leak. I really need to stop with buying tractors and work on what we already have but I also think the live power would be nice to put on our jube.

Lisa you need to wear horse blinders when you go anywhere so you can not see all these goodies. You need to stay at home and get that winter project started. Then next spring start again.LOL LB

The live power add on was kind of doohicky IMO but is still a much coveted and expensive option.
If it was working properly with the extra little hyd pump run off the tach drive on the main pump it would be worth more than the price of the tractor.
If the wheel weights are the 3 piece type made in Neenah WI they are my favorite weights.
I have had these on probably 5 different tractors now. I'll sell you my tractor but NOT my weights. Kind of like stealth weights - ya can't see them from the outside.
I run them rear round plus add pie weights for winter snow plowing.

Your right LB I think were gonna skip out on these 2. Were finally starting to get some projects caught up! Enough buying stiff although we did bring home a nice Dearborn 3 pt saw yesterday. Have to take some pics when we try it out! The wheel weights look just like the one I'm above pic.

"I really need to stop with buying tractors and work on what we already have"
I said that too! A few years ago... LOL
If I could get myself to store anything outside it would be easier.
I have one non-running parts tractor that sets outside.
All the rest I store inside one way or another.

That's the problem here we keep them at my
mother in laws so they sit outside. I'd
love to have a big shed to put them in.
That's a priority when we buy a house in
the country. Lots of room and storage for
tractors! I suppose once we paint the 2
were keeping I'm not going to like them
sitting outside! But then again they are
working tractors.

To me it sounds like your Ill. LOL You got a very bad case of tractor fever. You need to go take a tractor for a long drive and do some work with it and then go to bed and post back tomorrow and be sure you do not take a drive any place on a road

i have 9 fords..ran out of storage..wired 2 fence panels together to form a quonsut type hut..stake with 4' posts..cover with tarp..makes a quick easy structure..keeps them out of the weather..have lasted 5yrs..starting to need new tarps..phil

It did pretty much rain most of the day yesterday. By the time we got half way back home the skys started clearing!

Not a bad idea! I think at the hunting shack where the 2 we keep or maybe 3 we plan to build a log shed to match the cabin and sauna, with a cement floor we plan to use the 3pt cement mixer. Cant get much cheaper than cutting down trees for logs! Suppose we will use the Dearborn 3pt saw to trim the logs to size. Just have to buy tin for the roof!

I believe we have for over a year when the whole tractor buying started. However I need to keep in mind I need to keep some money incase we have to rebuild the hubbys tractor.....

Ya that is why I have to more batteries from time to time due to having to many tractors and not enough batteries to run them all.
