off topic-kids and hair

As most don't know I run a home daycare. I have a 4 yr old daughter that used to have beautiful long hair down to her bottom....until this morning. I had her and another girl at the table doing preschool curriculum and got a phone call from another provider in town. Well I left the damn scissor on the table and was talking for a few minutes in the living room on the phone. I get off the phone and walk into the kitchen and my daughter comes out of the closet with the scissor and tells me she cut her hair. My heart broke! I found her hair although she mostly just cut the underside...in the garbage. I must say she did cut it so that the top layers of her hair covered what she cut but I was crushed. I saved a handful of hair she cut for a memory for her later. I then took her in this late afternoon and had the rest of her hair cut 3-4 inches, if I would have had it cut to even it up it would have been above the shoulders. Needless to say all scissors are locked in a safe as well as daddys clippers!

"She's gonna be a beautician".
That's what my granddaughter told us when she cut hers.
She was 4 at the time also. LOL
On the bright side, it will grow back! :)

I always wondered why women make their little girls grow long :? . I think I finally figured it out  . Women in general are mean  . First they trap some poor sap (I'm one) into marrying them :( and then if it's not enough to torment the man they trapped  they make their kids grow long hair so that can comb/brush it, inflicting more pain and suffering

in the 60s. i learned to cut hair by watching my stylist cut mine..i had 2 boys to practice on..got pretty good..wife had me cut hers and daughter..as boys grew i continued to cut them..as long hair became popular, when i cut the boys, they hated it, they would wear a stocking cap till it grew long enough for me to cut it again.. lol..funny how things change..after they went into the real world..lo and behold..they came to me for hair cuts..phil

Don't worry it will be grown back by Christmas or well on the way. A few years back a local machine shop had a long, long haired dude on the Bridgeport who got his pony tail caught in the spindle of the machine. Pulled a wad of hair, skin as big as your hand out-------------OUCH. -----------Beautiful day here in Virginia and hope yours is as well.

Ouch! Its raining and cold here! Heard the
weatherman say the s word the other night.
Not quite ready for that yet!

My wife likes to tell the story about how when she was very little one day she decided to give her baby brother George a shampoo. She found something under the sink and used that. Well, it turned out to be glue or something and it started setting up. My wife's mother came in on the scene and of course was horrified. They rushed him to her hairdresser and they tried to apply oil etc., but to no avail. All his hair fell out and he was bald for many months but it finally did grow back.

That's a pretty good reason! Guess I shouldn't have ever told her I was gonna chop her hair off when she complained about me brushing it!

I'm deep into my 60s and bald with a gray fringe...

Mom has been gone a number of years now, but she SAVED and gave me a lock of my then-blonde curly hair... as well as a B&W 'snapshot' of a 2 Y/O me dated 1947......

I had both laminated side-by-side for easy keeping.... it is a treasure to me, even at this age!!!

Here's your SIGN........... :) duey

I did save all her hair she cut off in a ziplock for remembering later on down the years, maybe i'll bring it back out when she has her first child that does the same thing!
