It's a 2N. Most likely has a Sherman step up, or possibly a step down. The engine could be an early '50 model 8N, but probably not. They likely guessed at the year.

unfortunately, all too common.

i remember buying a 850 once. owner swore it was an ' 801 ' I pointed out the 8-5-0 ont he bellhousing and he scoffed at me and got mad
