We have a mole problem..

I have tried the windmills, solar beepers and poison peanuts. I still have the critters. Does any one have a solution?

Thanks for your help.

The best way is to get rid of the food source; that's easier said than done.

I could loan you my 'killer pointer' Gordon (1 groundhog, 1 skunk, 2 squirrels & countless moles this season) but he would do more damage looking for the moles than the moles do.

My neighbor swears by the trap at the link below. Unlike the dog, it doesn't tear up the yard & you don't need to feed it.

My dad's been known to use a .357 Magnum, but you have to be patient, and catch them while they're working. (I've never been very good at it.)

JB9959........mole are looking for "grubs" ...ie... insect larva; spray yer lawn with "INSECTICIDE". Simple, eh? .......the amazed Dell

I used this formula and it worked. May take awhile for moles to leave, bit works for year or two. Use the very smelly caster Oil.

Castor oil is derived from the castor bean. This colorless, tasteless and odorless oil has a wide array of uses including as a food additive and laxative. It is also used to create a homemade mole repellent. Castor oil mole repellent consists of 8 tablespoons of castor oil, 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap and 1 gallon of water mixed together thoroughly. Pour this mixture into the moles runs to drive the annoying rodents out of your yard. You can also spray this mixture on plants and soil around the area where moles are active.

I agree with Dell, but I guess that it is too simple quick and not enough challenge for most people. I used Milky Spores about five years ago. They have not come back yet. I noticed that at my hardware they don't have it any more but they do have another grub killer. If you are interested in quick easy and long lasting.

Insecticide really does not keep moles away. I use "Sevin" granular lawn and garden insecticide on my entire vegetable garden before planting. Those pesty moles STILL made off with quite a few sweet corn seeds and about 1/2 of the indian corn seeds I planted. That little buggar dug his burrow to follow the row exactly. Next year when I plant corn, I will plant one mole pellet with each seed.

Showcrop, The "Sevin" granular insecticide does a good job of controlling grubs. There are virtually NO grubs in my garden.

The moles are not going after the grubs. The moles ARE going after the seeds. And yes, moles DO eat seeds.
