Top Link Holder

Since I've had my 2N, I've never had a means to hold the top link up, out of the way and out of the PTO when there is not an implement attached.

Today, I got to thinking, and newer tractors all have some sort of strap that holds the top link when it's not in use. I gave my tractor a quick once over when I got home this evening, and don't see a good way to do so right off the bat.

My question is, what do you fellas use to hold your top link when you're not using it...short of taking it off and holding it on your lap.

I fold mine up and too the left. Stays right where I put it.

Just watch out for the turnbuckle so it doesn't whack you in the ribs.

I think this would be the "1" in 101 uses for a bungee cord.

CF........you do know you can gitt LONGER toplink pins, don't you? A clever shadetree mechanic could fabricate a simple sheetmetal bracket to hang down from the longer toplink pin and hold yer turnbuckle toplink in it with friction ...or... bungee cord. Think sheetmetal funnel split length wize. Simple, eh?

And remember NEVER EVER PULL ENNYTHANG from that handy-dandy toplink under yer butt-buckett. ........the amazed Dell

You can make a heavy wire hook to hold it up and out of the way or use a bungee cord. My NH came with a wire hook just for that purpose.

Three things I leave with every implement: the hitch pin, the third link bar, and the PTO pin (if it does not have a collar or spring pin). Then it doesn't matter which tractor I pull up with it is ready to go. On the little tractors I turn off the PTO when I unhook so the link can just hang there. The PTO doesn't need to be on if there is nothing on the arms, anyway.

Buy one tractor for each implement, plus one.
Problem solved! LOL
I'll try to get a picture of the holder I built.
It's not pretty, but it works.

longer seat spring studs are a handy place to mount brackets for that or rear lights etc.

with that said, just my preference, but if a pto shaft isn't hooked up, the pto is capped. no exceptions. caps are cheap

Thank you all for your time and input. We'll have to see if time gets the old creative juices flowing. Maybe I'll come up with some way to combine several of your ideas and come up with something.
