FYI priming oil pump

You know occasionally you will run across a tractor that priming oil pump is very difficult. I had one today. Tried everything we usually do. Would not prime. I found a new simple sure way. Take the oil line loose at the block leading to the oil gauge. Remove the oil relief valve, spring and plunger. Take a length of rubber gas line (about 2 feet) and stick it in the relief valve hole. Use you oil squirt can the pump oil through rubber hose holding it tight. Soon oil will squirt out the oil line gauge hole. Replace the relief valve. Leave the oil line to gauge loose. Hit the starter (switch off) and you should have oil shooting out the oil line connection port. She's done.

ANOTHER never-fail method... Clean engine oil in a CLEAN used-for-this-purpose-only $12 garden sprayer.

The engine in the photo is a 350 Chevy, but it woks equally well with an "N" Ford!
