I took the part number for 8n pto seal from a previous post and it had an ID of 1.625. Isn't the shaft 1 3/8"?

Also the seals around the steering arms (either side of steering column), what's is the easiest way to replace them. Anybody have the part number?

Thanks for the continued help.

The PTO shaft has an enlarged section where the seal contacts the shaft.

Simplest way to stop your steering box seals from leaking is to replace the gear oil with corn head grease.

Optimally you would remove the gear box and drain all of the oil but that's a lot of work - As the CHG and gear oil are petro based you don't necessarily need to remove the gear oil, just install a Zerk fitting and pump in the CHG until it comes out the steering box tube beneath the steering wheel. Maybe a little messier doing it this way but it's faster and easier than removing the gear box.

as DB said.

both seals easy to repalce.. requires disassembly.

service wear ring on pto shaft when you do seal and check bearing..
