8n starter switch

(quoted from post at 16:41:40 07/14/13) what is involved in replacing the starter switch on the ford 8n? Mine was made in 1954

8n production quit in 52. So you have an NAA(jubilee) or its 52 or before.

If you talking about the start button...just remove the one wire then pop the trans cover. One big nut holds the button in. Pretty easy in the scheme of things. Bout 8-9 bolts, one nut, and one wire.

Don't loose the detent ball and spring at the rear of the cover. It shouldn't come flying out, but keep it in mind.

Yacolt welcome to the forum!
JCinKY is right about the years and the procedure.
About the only thing I want to add is that the procedure is the
same. Whether it's an 8N or an NAA. Pretty easy.
8N would have a flat head 4 cyl. exhaust on the right.
NAA would have a valve in head 4cyl. exhaust on the left.
The manuals are different for each tractor, but readily available.
If you can post a picture, or the serial number we can help clear
up any confusion.

First off need to be sure what you have. Like the other guy said last year of the 8N was 1952. In 1953 the came out with the Jubilee and in 1954 the NAA If it is an 8N it will have a flat head engine and 4 forward gears. If a Jubilee/NAA it will have a valve in head engine so what do you have
