ive got my 52 all back together, fresh paint, fresh .090 sleeves, valve job, purrs like a kitten.
Problem with my hydraulics - with control lever all the way down ,the arms raise. with control lever around the 3/4 down position, lift arms lower.
I haven't had a load on it as of yet.

oil junky or clean?

open inspection panel see if rod from the top is moving valve full in and out of pump body.

Fill in the blanks. What else did you do??? Did it work as it should have before you did what you did or what.

i bought this one as a restore project. whether it worked properly i dont know, former owner had parked it for several years.
I did remove pump and cleaned and inspected it, before the paint job and engine rebuild.
upon inspection the intake valve was stuck, i stretched the spring and reinstalled. everything else looked ok.
it has sat over the past winter on me as im just now finishing it up,so i'll pull inspection plate and go from there.

Soundguy, we pulled inspection plate, the problem is the long control rod isnt moving enough to move the valves all the way in and out.
So i will have to remove the top part, and what do i look for once removed ?
Acts like too much play in the long rod. I dont have a manual handy either.

get a manual, and really conside getting the adjustment jig from zane if you pull it.

have you adjusted the quadrant yet?

got the cover off and the long rod off. gonna straighten it. i thought it was straight but once cover was off, it is arched shaped.
No not done any adjusting yet.

Soundguy, i straightened the long rod(straight as an arrow now).
ajusted spring according to manual - 3 9/16 inches
with small lever(draft control) down, the intake valve dont come all the way out and with draft control up, the intake valve comes all the way out. (is this correct )
I still got a problem as nothing ive done has changed anything.
I have dropped the pump out the bottom and the intake and exhaust are working correctly.
So ant tips where to go from here ?

I would verify that touch control lever is still keyed to eccentric shaft & that key isn't sheared & slippage occurred between shaft & lever.
