That brings some memories of things my 2 older brothers and I did when we were young.

i guess they see me work on things and they were doing the same plugging the hole in the house or trying to fix and breakit but we end upfixing it.

Friend of mine's son watched the fuel delivery man put oil in the fuel tank all winter. When spring came, and the garden hose was outside... (you can figure out the rest)!

Many yrs ago my daughter would shave with me, I used a Badger hair brush and mug. I would swril the brush in the soap and would froth us up. One day she came out of the bathroom mug in one hand and the soap disk impaled on a metal finger nail file and proudly said" dad you know that soap you try to get out of the mug with your brush, well it came right out when I stabbed it with the file" Thanks honey. She turned 30 today and I will hit her with this treasured moment when I call her tonight, and we'll laugh

Thank Buddha my 4 kids are almost growed up (27 -41) Oddly enough, I don't really miss the 'stuff', BUT, I gots a grandson comin' up !

when I was a kid,
my grandma dipped snuff.

I emptied out her snuff box and filled it with coco and sugar.

she took a big dip and started spitting

she did not get too mad, because I was her only grandson and she loved me bunches.

another time I broke a plastic comb tooth off and stuck it in the end of one of my dad's smokes.

when he lite that one up, it smelled like the old dog had just taken a big dump in the living room floor.

I did not come out as well on that one, but I do not remember ever doing that again.

boys will be boys,
I raised two good boys and yes by the time they were grown, I paid over and over for the bad tricks of my youth.

I had a similar problem with my furnace last fall. When I peeked in the exhaust pipe, I could see birds nests. I cut the pipe and removed 3 nests. The furnace still would not work right. I had to completely disassemble to furnace and blower to remove the 3 baby birds that went the wrong way.

Now I have hardware cloth covering the end of the pipe.

I remember a long time ago, when our daughter was about 16, she would earn her allowance by doing chores around the house. One of those was loading the dishwasher. We came home one day and as we got out of the car, she flew out of the house screaming "Don't Kill Me, Don't Kill Me!!!". We had no idea what she was talking about. Turns out we had run out of dishwasher detergent, so to improvise she put regular dishwashing soap in the dishwasher. The kitchen was full almost to the ceiling with soap suds and they were spilling out through the door into the dining room. She cleaned the whole mess up and we had a huge laugh about it. We told her at least the kitchen was really clean now.

I took over the family farm that i grew up on.
There isn't a square inch on the metal sheds without a BB dent!
How I still have both eyes is beyond me!

As the Country Music song goes, "You are gonna miss this". These are the stories you tell the rest of your life and laugh about. Boys will be boys. I sure was busy and so were my sons. Grand kids...pending

Years ago, I had a certain phrase I always used to say to my dog when he was in my way. Never thought much about it, until my daughter (who was probably 3 or so at the time) told me to move my big furry butt...
