Rustoleum paint

Those of you who have painted your tractors ( just to look nice not show tractor quality )have any of you used rustoleum paint and if so how has it held up . Again I am talking just a nice paint job not show quality . Just trying to dress the old girl up a little .

I use Rustoleum on all my rims. It works well and has held up so far.
I haven't painted the tin with it, but I see no reason why it would
be of a lesser quality than anything else.
Finish would depend on prep work and application method.
Spray, brush, roller, etc.
Outer rim here is Rustoleum hammered silver.

You have to watch the primer you use. Ive had fisheyes and drying problems. In addition, I hate the rattle can plugging problems, I probably threw away more paint than I put on. I quit using it.

I sprayed the Ford I used to have with ?Smoke Gray? Rustoleum... came out very smooth and nice.... though I did mix in some boiled linseed oil... Finish was durable and had decent shine, plus it was brush-friendly for the cast iron parts.

Never tried rattle cans on the tractor...

There is always a prize in the can. I always turn he can upside down, put a wrag over the can and poke a hole with an ice pick.

cut a hole in the bottom and drain out the paint, then the PRIZE is the industrial glass green marble.

I save up the marbles and now have enough for my CHINESE CHECKER set. :)

My first Ford was a 2N that was given to me by my father. He "restored" it about 5 years before he passed away.
Used Rustoleum and a brush.
It looked good at first but faded Very quickly so that by the time I got it it was pink.
I have no problem with brush painting one but I would do it with a better paint and use a hardener.
Mix your paint/hardnener in small batches so you can use it up within the stated "use" time.

I use Rustoleum on my work tractors,
holds up ok, touch ups, are easy and cheap if you wait
for the sales to stock up.
brush on cast, spray on tins.
red does fade some.
I start with 'Regal Red', nice color, fades to
almost perfect Ford color.
Regal Red is also passable as IH red, WheelHorse Red, Ford Red,
and others.
working now on adding a little Regal Red to the regular
Rustoleum orange to come close to Allis orange and Kubota orange.
(need quarts, regular orange quart = cheap)

only complaint with Rustoleum lately is as JJ said.
Maybe 1 in 5 cans won't spray after a minute.
cleaning or changing nozzles doesn't help.
My store will exchange them, but it is still a pain

I too use Rustoleum hammered metal silver on rims.

It's about as close to the OEM galvanized coating as you can get with paint.

I used rustoleum. Tractor had rust. A year later, I scuff sanded the rustoleum and top coated with some cheap paint from Rural King. Now have a nice shinny IH red finish. Nothing else rustolleum could act as a primer, if you have rust, can always paint it later.

I did not know that.

When small, I used glass marbles as sling shot ammo. Unlike rocks, they would travel straight and I could buy a whole bag for about 50 (hey, there's no cents symbol on my keyboard).

for working tractors I"ve used rustoleum and had some good results. For the 8n and hundred series I mix 22 parts almond to 1 part black to about 1 1/2 parts sunburst yellow for the tin and sunrise red for the body.
