Bypass the resistor (jump around it). See if it runs. Won't hurt the coil to test it for a few min. If it runs replace the resistor. Bet you a cold frosty one the resistor is OK.

thanks HC
shouldn"t I have juice to the resistor ?
that"s where the power stops
will try to by-pass and see
hey - cold frosty one sounds pretty good.
hot one here in NC :)

"checks good until i get to resistor
no juice going in or out" If nothing IN, then it sounds to me like the problem is BEFORE you even get to resistor.

thanks JMOR....
i'll double check but i thought i had juice
on everything up to the resistor.
maybe i will start at coil and go back and see
where that leads...maybe bad connection on wire going in.
will continue when rain stops. thanks

Mike........would you believe the "infamous ballast resister" is just like a light bulb. It either works or it don't. Based upon yer complaints and answers, bett'cha isttza yer weaksister ignition switch. ($10, cheap) .........Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-miester

thanks Sparkie (aka Dell)
will double check switch
very possible i missed something while testing
was sorta hurrying as a thunderstorm was a coming :)

H Cooke - i owe you a cold frosty one :) and JMOR - looks like it WAS the connection before the resistor. the connection felt tight and secure but once i disconnected and cleaned and tighten back she fired....what causes connections to stop current ? rust ? thanks all

thanks Erik for the reminder. ol' Dell is right with shinny and bright.
am working on sanding and tightening up all connections :)
