Rear Weights

A neighbor of mine has a set of rear circular weights off a TO-30 Ferguson. I am less ballast hungry now with the 961D, but I still like ballast. I haven't had a chance to measure these weights...any idea if they will fit on the 8N and if so, how much do they weigh and what are they worth?

Thanks!

if that 30 had a regular 28 : rim setup like your N.. probably fit. depends on how it mounts though. does it bolt thru the center?

If the weights will fit a TO-30 they will fit your 8N unless there is something HIGHLY unusual about either tractor.

Hi Colin,
Hard to say what they'd weigh as there were several different types of circular weights made for the TOs and Fords. But if they are for 28" rims I'll lay odds they will fit an N.
I agree about adding ballast to a tractor. I run 225 lb 3 piece weights year round and add heavy pie weights for winter snow plowing.
Ballast makes for a much more stable platform and no tractor can put it's full HP to the ground without it.
As for price, weights generally run up to 50¢ per lb.
