This is for all you "know it all" people, let"s really see if you know it all. Purchased an overhauled bare block from Iowa. New oil pump kit, new governor. Fired up like it was supposed to, no oil pressure. The oil pump was pre-lubed and so was the oil pressure relief hole, forgot to mention, new oil pressure relief pin & spring, new oil P/U tube. Took the oil line loose from the guage, started the tractor, no pressure or oil. Removed the line from the governor, same issue, nada.I blew air in both lines & the oil filter cup was singing with air. I also removed the oil pressure relief valve & stretched the spring, no help.
Alright, let"s hear it, what"s the deal?

I'm skeptical of the new oil pickup tube. There could be something wrong there causing it to not pull oil. Was it braised onto the cover right? I forgot whether you mentioned if you packed the pump with grease and primed the passages using the front port.

If it were me I would pull the pan and blow up the pickup and see I'd it is a tight fit. Would't be easy, but I have been known to get some oil in my mouth just to check out an engine.

Maybe you forgot to put oil in it

Memory is not so good any more, but it seems to me I recall a pipe plug being in the oil line in the back of the block..... could also be one in the front. If one or both are missing could account for loss of oil pressure.

I'm not a tractor expert like these folk but I had the same problem with a jeep willys. Took off pan and blew cigaret smome in one of the oil lines. I don't smoke but the smoke came out of the pipe plug the overhauler left out. Good luck to ya
