ou look at the holes in them vs holes/adjuster in breaker plate AND then figure out where to open which hole with a little round file until you can set the 0.015 gap. Just have to get used to our new world of "NOT made in USA".

If you have the time.....

Take the points and distributor to the CNH dealer. Show the manager (not the parts guy) that the part is defective and why it is defective.

You may wish tell him that the part might be made in BFE, but his dealership is in the USA and he is selling junk.

If nothing else, you will at least feel good for a the few minutes it takes to waste his time......

I have been told that CNH now sells points made by TISCO which are junk. You can file the adjustment opening to get the required .015 clearance and hope they line up or go to a NAPA store and buy the points they sell which are made by Echlin. Good luck. Think about converting your tractor over to a 12 volt system and electronic ignition. With the present availability of decent ignition parts for a front mount distributor N tractor EI maybe the only way to keep these old Fords running except to convert to a side mounted distributor.

All gas tractors have electronic ignition from the factory. You should use the term solid state on the ripoff ignition.
