Looking for input on a bumper i located. The bumper itself is a 3 pc unit. The arms bolt to the axle, and the front gaurd part pins to the arms. The seller told me it is a rare bumper from a ford 8n his family bought new in 52. Is this true? Ive never seen anything like it before. If it is original, im going to purchase it tommorow.
Thanks for any help!

I can't answer your question, I don't know of an original that pinned,
but it might help others answer if you post a picture of the bumper.

It's an aftermarket.

This is not to say that it could not have been installed by the dealer at the time of original sale.

If you can pull the pin and swing the bumper away to one side it is probably a Ferguson bumper.
On the Fergies the hood flipped up from the rear so the bumper had to swing away to lift the hood.

here are a couple of pictures of how old ferguson tractors used a front bumper with their flip up hoods.

one appears to have pins that can be removed to drop down the bumper so the hood will open.

I have seen another type that is pinned on one side and it flips around to the other side so the hood can clear.

guess there was more than one way to skin a cat.
