8n ford seril no.

" I would like to find the age of my 8n ford "

As you will see from the links JC gave you, the s/n will only tell you the year of the engine. You will need to look for other clues as to the tractor itself.

Raymond.......congratulations, you have the "braggin' rights" to a 1951 8N engine. Carefull, while yer engine s/n makes it a 1951 8N, it could be a replacement engine for 3-speed 9N/2N. (they are interchangeable) 8N's are 4-speed. The FO-4 manual lists 8N-524076 as the last 8N engine mfg. ........historical Dell

Ray........some people can't tell the difference between 4-speed 8N's; or 3-speed 9N's and 2N's. They all look alike. While 8N's came from the factory with RED castiron and gray sheetmetal, many all gray 9N's and 2N's have been repainted the more pleasing red'n'gray of the 8N. Interestingly enuff, while the engines are interchangeable, the trannys are NOT interchangeable. .........historical Dell
