Hi Folks
I decided to look at this quadrant lever this morning as the machine seems to be working properly in all other regards (except brakes but I don't have time to take the wheels off yet).
this is the lever as I found it. The lever is at the top of it's travel with the lift all the way up and goes down from there it's actually over the hole to bolt up the quadrant rail.
after the the adjustments I managed to get it to operate fully in the quadrant. these 2 pics show all the way up and all the way down. I can't seem to get it to have that range further around the quadrant but I was happy to get it inside. I was thinking though that this should have a longer travel to go from up to down. the book says to put 300lb on the lift but the mower was already attached which is maybe 550 or so # is it because of the extra weight that makes the lift arm range lower? I could imagine that the extra weight would make it drop sooner and faster than normal. If that is is the case then I might run out of room at the bottom of the quadrant when I have a plow on there for example.
