Does anyone sell a PTO cover for an 8N that will go over top of the ORC?

I don't like the idea of the ORC spinning away uncovered when I don't need it, but I also don't like the idea of pounding its pin in and out each time I want to use it.

(And yes, I know I can disengage the PTO, but that also disengages the hydraulics, so I can't lift the 3 pt hitch arms.)

If a cover is not available, does anyone know what the thread size is, so I can get a cover made for me?

Thanks,

-Paul

look at the orc. now look at the threaded ID of the bearing carrier.

unless you have some small alien ORC i've nver seen. you won't get a cover over the orc.

some have made tabbed ears that bolt on at the 4 bolts in the back and then they attach a home- made large dia cover. could be pvc or metal. be creative.

Paul........as the un-offical ORC safety preacher, I understand yer concern. I went to the plumbing section of the hardware store and bought a 4" plastic toilet floor mount. With a little roundfile customization, I modified the corner mounting holes to fit the PTO screw spacing. Then on the topside, (where it is eazy to gitt too) I filed a 1/2-moon access so I can grease the ORC zerk. I finally cut about 6" of 4" plastic drain and glued a standard cap over the end. I did NOT glue the 6"-pipe into the modified PTO surround toilet mount. There is sufficient FRICTION to keep the 6"-cover stuck over the PTO ORC. Dang, I'm gonna haffta figger out how to post pictures one of these days ........Dell, with ORC safety cover

Let me see if can help you out with the picture, Dell.

.....or maybe this is more like what you had in mind:

lets see...$90 for new quick connect ORC plus $50+ for old style ORC...a few bucks for plumbing supplies....(grabs keys, heads to home depot) :)

Don't remember where I found these photos or who posted them:
