2n generator removal.

Hi Folks

2N 6v generator needs to go in for rebuild but before I break anything I wanted to know how it comes off? there is a bracket on top bolted to the generator and that has a bolt that goes through a spring to the bracket on the cylinder head. this looks like it's threaded into a castle nut with a cotter pin through it. if I pull that pin will the bolt unscrew? leaving the nut attached to the bracket? the blow up diagram doesn't show it clearly enough for me and all the parts are pretty dry and cranky so I don;t want to force anything the wrong way.

Thanks

The rod on the stop with the spring and castle nut
is a tensioning device. One way with the bolt (don't
remember - CRS) loosens the tension on the fan belt
so you can slip the fan belt over the pulley. Then
remove the big bolt on the bottom of the generator
and off she comes.

To expand on Hcooke's post: after removing the fan
belt and big bolt on the bottom, the generator
slides off the mounting lug and the tensioner
slides out of the bracket on the cylinder head.
Then you can remove the clamp bolt on the tensioner
and slide it off the generator.

Thanks. I was afriad it was more complex than that. Popped right off.
