As reported a day or 2 ago low coolant light was coming on and good bit of water had to be added. Car is my Dad"s-he took it to the shop today and they said something in the dash had to be replaced--had to get the part from Ohio or some other foreign country and it is a part that has to be programmed before it is installed---makes no sense to me does it to you, anyone?? Also said the light was coming on even with key off and removed from the switch...Prob. cost between $500 and $600 to replace part, flush radiator and get it ready to roll..

I would just buy some flush and refill w/ fresh antifreeze, and see what happens, putting 5 or 6 hundred into a 13 year old car not overheating!

I agree ----BUT---my Dad is one of those who is going to do what he decides he is going to do and 99 sticks of dynamite will not change his mind..Long story short-it was my Mother"s car-she passed away last Sept.1 and he will kep it and keep it in top shape no matter the cost.

While I can't speak about that specific model they are probably refering to the Body Control Module (BCM). They sometimes have to be configured to a specific vehicle and have flash updates and mileage put in them. Gerard
