52 8N beginning to start hard

Hey guys, looking for your 1,2,3 checklist for what I should start planning to perform maintenance on. Several months ago when I bought my 52 8N sidemount 6v it ran like a champ and started with typically little effort. Two to three cranks of a couple seconds and it would fire right up and run all day. If I turned it off it would fire back up just the same. Seems like lately it is taking a number of cranks before it will turn over. Once it starts it runs like a top, but if you turn it off it can be difficult to get her fired up again. I am looking for thoughts as a best place to start. Is this a points issue, new plugs (who knows how old they are) fuel flow....? I have never seen a need before now to check compression or get really deep into the engine yet since it typically runs so well. As always, in advance appreciate the help.

redbelly........yer description is typically POINTS. Unlike the frontmount, sidemount points (0.025") are eazy to replace. Just remember to clean/polish the INVISIBLE corrosion from between the points (0.025") after installation. Me? I clamp a clean $1-bill between the points and pull. Iff'n yer really cheap, tear a strip from HEAVY brown paper grocery sack and use that. ........Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Take a look at the numbers on the plugs.H10s are ng with unleaded gas.Autolite 216s are too cold also.
