Altenator pulley change

Or put a leather glove on your right hand, hold the pulley, & zip the nut off with an impact wrench in the left hand. Delco uses a straight shaft with woodruff key.

(quoted from post at 05:19:52 05/12/13) I need to replace my altenator. Do you just impact the pulley off?

I don't know of any older big three automaker alternators that have pressed on pulleys . An impact works good to get the nut off .

ALL the older Chrysler alts had the pulley pressed on. You must NOT be a MOPAR guy!

Notice the ring protruding from the pulley that is used to grab the pulley and remove it with the same puller used on power steering pumps of the era?
