Labor for 8n knowledge

Ok,

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, so first: hello and thanks for creating and
keeping it up. Looks like a great group of people!

I have a somewhat odd offer to make here, but it makes some
sense to me and maybe will work for a reader here.

I'd like to get an 8n, but I know nothing about tractors. I'm
offering 3 days of my labor in exchange for sharing your 8n
knowledge. We all have that chore we've wanted to do if only
we had the time!

I am located in baltimore and spend some summer time in the
Catskills region of New York. I am 32 and in good shape. I
spend the year teaching in baltimore city public schools and I
have to say putting in 3 days of labor outside of a cinder lock
building actually sounds pretty appealing right now.

So that's my pitch, I'm open to other ideas as well. Let me
know!

Matt

That's the great thing about forums, everyone shares knowledge.
And it's free.
Now, trying to get one of us to give up a tractor?
That could be another story! :)
Are you wanting someone to help you pick one out to purchase?

Get a tractor and a shop manual and it will get you the education itself. When you do have problems, many folks here will do every thing they can to help work you thru it. If you are somewhat mechanically incline you won't have no problems. 8Ns are not that hard to work on. Many people here that have never rebuilt an engine have done so for the first times on their old 'N'. You probably should start off finding in pretty fare shape and running.

Hello Matt,

I live in Frederick and if you want to come by and labor for me I'll be happy to talk your ears off ;-)

Seriously - you will get all the help you need here just for the asking.

Thanks everyone!

I definitely plan to ask lots of questions here. I just know that I learn a lot more by doing/seeing.

And yes, I would definitely appreciate some advice on what to look for, but first I want to spend some time around one cause I know that's how I'll figure the most out.

Alright, so who's taking the labor!! :)

I thought my email would show up. You can reach me at [email protected]

Thanks!

I will take you up on your offer if you are willing!

You can email me at [email protected]

If anyone else is interested, let me know. I am itching to get
out of the city!

Thanks everyone!

Matt
