That makes sense. I have a couple of things that the tractor needs, not to say the least an overhaul on the hydraulic pump. And do not have the facility to work it. Anyone know a mechanic in the Osceola, Iowa area?

I just returned from a short visit to your area.

CHEROKEE COUNTY. Had to run out there to check on things where I have an investment in the POCOHONTAS area.

What is it doing? How do you know it needs hyd. pump worked on? Depending on what it is doing might just need ram cylinder reworked. Just curious..Thanks

It will not hold the 3 point for more than a minute or two. I have not looked at the pump through the window yet, but it started to lose its hold shortly after I tried lifting an out building that was heavier than the tractor.
I'm guessing now that I blew a gasket and its leaking.

at this point you need to stop, and get a service manual.

while it MIGHT need work on the pump ( relief, etc.. ).. many, many 'won't hold' problems are from a leaky piston/oring/ring issue ( however there are others. like lekay gaskets and pinholded pressure tubes..e tc.

pays to do some observation and troubleshooting before jumping to the comclusin you need to pull a part off that may not be contributing to the problem at all.

Very likely u will see the proplem with oil streaming from the top area and that will be good news--very likely not the pump itself.

the belly pump is realatively easy to pull and work on at your bench...
