O T: Quick Hitch

My tractor is a 1952 8N, side mount. Bought from Northern Tool, NorTrac Three-Point Quick Hitch Cat 1. Can"t get it attached to my tractor. The two lower arms, with pins, are fine, it is the "Adjustable top hook", that is the problem it is either too wide or will not go low enough to fit my implements, box blade(TSC) Howse mower and a disc. ( the disc is probably a cat 2) . Do any of you fellas have experience with this or a recommendation, before I return it.
NT customer svc, Tech Spt, were no help

I modified my brush hog, think my dic was ok. When I go out to the barn in a bite Ill look at what I did.May be some pics.I"m running a Jub.

Yep one of the problems with the quick hitch it will not fit many older things and also many newer ones. Good in theory but in practice does not work well unless you have the correct thing to fit it

My dad modified all of his 3pt implements to fit the quick hitch so it is the handiest thing ever. No need to get off the seat to attach anything but the PTO shaft. But if your not willing to modify the implements then the quick hitch isn't much good.

I don't have any pictures of my dads equipment as he lives about 500 miles away and isn't too camera savvy.

He torched off the implement top mount and welded a new one on that lined up with his quick hitch. Really was quite easy just time consuming getting them all modified to fit.

Typically two interference points: not enough space fore/aft and not enough space vertically (both marked in yellow) to clear the rather bulky quick hitch parts.
