Hello
I am looking at 8N that had the transmission all disassembled. The parts are suppose to be all there if we can find them. The old man told me that they were all coated with grease and put up. The tractor has been apart for over ten years. He has passed away and I want to make the family an offer before it goes to auction this fall. It has been stored inside ever since it was taken apart. It looks like most parts are there. Just need to find the gears. I am helping clean out the garage and get ready for the sale. The engine is suppose to be ok. Any suggestions on what to offer. I now it will be a project. Don't want to see it scrapped out. It also has loader and Sherman trans.

It was taken apart for a reason, so one would assume there's
something wrong with it.
After that long setting, one could safely assume it's not just going
to start right up and run without some work.
Location plays a big part in the equation as well.
Non running parts tractors are close to $500 around here.
Knowing this one has a bad tranny, even less.
I have lots of questions, like is it a front mount or side mount distributor?
Trip bucket loader or hydraulic dump?
Sherman step up, step down, or combo transmission?
If the Sherman is a combo, that alone is probably worth $500 if it
wasn't the reason the tractor was torn apart.
Tires are suspect having set that long, and they are pricey.
I wouldn't want to guess at the loader not knowing what it is.
The jungle gym and/or trip bucket loaders are pretty hard to give
away around here. Just no demand for them.

One like that is hard to price because you have no idea what it will take to fix it. That said the Sherman is worth $500 depending on which one it is. The Loader if trip bucket is worth $150-300 depending on what pump set up it has. Then depending on if it is a front mount or side mount distributor the tractor is self is worth $200-500 which goes to what the tires are like and if real good could go up even more

In my opinion it's probably worth scrap price. You just don't know what you might be in for to get it running so you want to be able to at least recoup your "investment" if you do have to haul it off to the yard, worst case, although it might be worth something parted out.
