8N Rod bearings

Looks like more bad news for sir 8N with loose sleeves.
Took number one piston out today and it looks like the rod is from a 9N as it says so on it. It also has the word "canada" stamped on it.
I have no idea what that means, so maybe someone out there has an answer. It has a psrt number on it but by the time i nade it to the house from the barn, i done forgot it so will copy it down tomorrow.
Second the rod bearing was worn some and had scratches in it in rotation fashion which is not real bad, i guess. No wear thru to the copper yet.
The bad thing, I think, is the bearing has .060 stamped on the back side of it.
Again, i am not real sure what that means but i am sure someone out there does.
The piston looks new except for the top which has a burnt oil scale on it from the rings allowing oil to the chamber.
Wrist pin is tight, and rings look new as well.

Thanks for your help.

The 9N part number is normal but not the Canada stamping.

The .060 means the crankpins are sixty thousandths undersize - that is beyond what I would consider maximum and do not believe you will have much if any luck finding replacement bearings or regrinding the journals.

Scratches are always bad.

From the sounds of things that engine is going to need a new crank in addition to sleeves and pistons.

.

The rods are the same 9n to 8n , some were made in Canada and some were made in USA , I have a few sets of each . Usually the part number did not change unless the part was revised .

.060 rod bearings are about 11 bucks each from this site . If you are not down to the copper on the bearings you may be able to use this crank one last time . You won't know until you mic the crank or plastigage a new bearing .

A lot depends on your finances and intended use of the tractor .
