Nice little surprise

I bought a 2N parts tractor, mostly for the sheet metal.
It has a Sherman step up tranny in it to boot.
Didn't pay too much for it, so I didn't bother to check much else on it.
Today I stuck a hand crank in the front of it and pulled it over.
Rolled over slick as a whistle.
I didn't try to start it, gas tank is full of turpentine and rust.
Radiator is full of bright green antifreeze.
Oil is used but no water, gas or antifreeze in it.
Some how this seems like an omen. LOL

Sort of sounds like an 8N a friend and I got. We payed $800 it and 4 or 5 pieces of equipment. My friend asked me how are we going to load all this stuff. I told him grab that battery off the back of the truck and the gas can. I set the battery in and poured some as in and checked a couple things and fire it up. We used that 8N with flat tires to load every thing up. Funny thing is the guy we got it from had left then came back. He saw use using the tractor to load thing up and just drove by. Guess either he did not care or he was kicking him self

Sounds like the 'parts' tractor I bought last
summer. Didn't run and had sat outside for the
last 7 years (I know because I have been watching
it that long). To make a long story short, I've
gotten it running, replaced the tires with some
spares I had sitting around. The brakes worked,
but the PO had the little lever that connects the
clutch to the left brake on the shaft backwards. I
took the left axle out and turned that around.
Last night I replaced the drag links which had
some ugly repairs on them.

That rear tire looks a little funny though. :)
Some day I'll find one like that and I'll just "get er runnin" and use it as is. LOL

I thought you were trying to reduce the size of your tractor fleet!

That 8N? north of Lowell is back out by the road is you want another.

Yep, I'll probably have to put a couple up for sale this year.
Had the barn full, and still had 3 in the garage and one outside.
He wanted $1500 for that tractor last year.
I wonder if he's come down any? :)
It's an addiction I tell ya, and addiction! LOL
Know anybody that wants a good running Farmall F20?
Round spoke rims and rubber tires all around!
