Running sluggish?

I have an 1941 9n tractor 12v. I have replaced bendix, ignition switch, coil, points, battery. Runs and purrs like a kitten until I put a load on it. We have gotten a lot of rain and I am thinking my points are wet and need to dry out. Tractor is parked in the elements all year long. I am getting spark and gas. Any ideas?

If it really "purrs like a kitten" at idle, then IMHO you need to service your your governor or make sure you carb setup is correct.

Otherwise you have weak spark or bad gas. Is spark blue/white? Jump 1/4" gap? Gas flow from carb drain and not trickle? Full of sediment or water?

We have gotten a lot of rain lately, but I don't think it would start at all if the points are wet. Check the firing order, and make sure it is firing on all four cylinders.

Harold, also in MO.

As HCooke say and or check that you plug wires are not bad and shorting out as in check for a good blue/white spark at all plug wires and that it will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more. Yep know about the rain I to am in Missouri and it was 85 here today and then the end of the week calling for 34 or colder

if you manually goose the carb does it respond faster?

is it making hte tailpipe sooty?

when idled up does it seem to have correct power and run correctly?

any popcorn popping?
