Garden's Ready

I'm a bit behind this year on planting due to the rain. We just got seed today, but I hope to have it in the ground by next week.

My engine swap from front mount to side mount went really well and I'm am very happy with how easy it is to get to the distributor. The front mount would have got the job done no doubt, but I couldn't pass up the price on a complete parts tractor. I swapped just because I had the time and energy now; gotta baby on the way any day.

The old 8 pull that single bottom like a champ! Turned it end of January, disc'd and turn it again last week. If the rain will hold off I'd be able to finish it up. We'll have to see.

Keep on N'n

I plowed the garden about 2 weeks ago, hit it with the disc 3 days later and then, as it was looking dry, I pulled the roller over it.
Now, with all of the rain, I can't even drive across it without sinking about 4".
I did put down some Preene before the rain and wanted to work it down a bit but rain came too fast and too steady.
If it will dry by next week maybe I can disc again and get in some potatoes and onions.

I've already got my cool weather garden planted and have radishes and lettuce onion,s cabbage etc all growing. Calling for a light frost here tonight but those should handle that just fine.

We picked up some corn, beans, tomato, pepper, sunflower and other stuff for the wife's smaller vegetable garden.

The only thing I'm worried about are my spuds. I hope the heat don't come on too fast.

I wanna disc some lime in, but think I'll let it go.

Its a mud pit now so I don't think I'll get to it for a few days with the weather we have now.

Well I knew it would happen. Just got in from plowing, naturally we bought too much and ran outta room.

Now it's double sized for all the greens SWMBO wants in there.

Oh, well. I LOVE IT. Wish I could plow up the hole backyard, but she wouldn't like that very much.

Hey, cuts down on the mowin.

Thanks Tom for the kind words. Only a week away now.
