distributer points

Hi all, I purchased a new tune up kit from this site,(points,condenser, rotor,etc.). my problem is the shaft that the points set on seems to corrode quite easily. What is the recommended lube if any to prevent this? It gets so bad that the points won't rock back and forth. This is a front mount 6 volt early 8n.

Points lube. If it didn't come with your tune-up kit, you can get it at your auto parts supplier.

My points come from NAPA. They are always in stock; Echlin Brand.

clean the shaft up and then lube it with a synthetic or molly grease.
