8N Lower Lift Pin Question

Working on a 8N that the lower lift pins were loose on. We needed to fix the trumpet seals, so we have taken both off and have removed the loose pins. I have two questions.

First question is the pin that we removed looks like the 8N563 pin, but it looks like the black one is the only one available now as a replacement. Is that correct?

Second question is how do you make sure the hole is not wallowed out like Bruce (VA) has mentioned in a previous post, "Make sure the holes are not wallowed out or you will be in there again. I hear JB Weld works, but I've never had the problem so I can't say for sure."? And can anyone shine some light on the JB Weld process for this application?

Thank,

Hiney

if the pin has been run loose.. there could be eccentric wear so that when you tighten it.. it is tight.. but leaks.

the jb weld just takes up the space. IE.. clean and coat liberally.. torque and pin. if there is any space for seepage.. the jb would seal it. the jb is not there for structural integrety.. just as a sealer.

should be easy to see / feel significant wear with a new pin in hand.
