I worked over the brakes and rear seals. One of the rear hubs is a replacement. On that side it goes far enough on that the nut bottoms out on the axle splines and doesn't torque the hub down enough.
I remember reading about this same thing about a year ago on here but it didn't apply to me so I don't remember. Seems to me that someone's advice involved shims.
What to I do? Do I get a washer sized just right that will press on the hub and tighten? Seems to me that option would cause the brake drum to rub the backer plate. Do I somehow shim the splines so the hub sits flush with the axle splines? I thought that someone cut strips to lay in the valleys and shim it (from a pop can or something?). The axle and hub are I good shape so don't see a reason to start replacing things.
