Quik "gas-and-go", here, has a new ad. campaign with the new signs all over the place.

NITROGEN CHARGED.

Have they replaced corn liquor? WATER?

Maybe this is the old lead additive in disguised.
I still have real lead in the small cans.

Color of the gas in my N is a pretty ROSE.

I am cornfused.

ou & I are NITROGEN CHARGED, too! Since it is 78% of the air we breathe.

You & I are NITROGEN CHARGED, too! Since it is 78% of the air we breathe.

I know a few people that run nitrogen in their tires and swear by it .

I have to wonder what the ratio is ? If you pulled the core and let a tire go flat there is still a lot of air volume inside the tire ? So would half and half be about 89% ?

One of my buddies pulls a large camper through the mountains , so he runs nitrogen to keep the tires cooler .

"One of my buddies pulls a large camper through the mountains , so he runs nitrogen to keep the tires cooler ." REALLY? :p

Most of the better quality (EXPENSIVE) tires s hould have DRY air pressure. Therefore, like aircraft tires, nitrogen should be the dryest air in any cylinder.

So, No2 is preferred to keep tires fron rotting from the inside out. I always let some air out of 'dem "quarter" machines until the water quits squiring all over my fingernails. Then I put the rest of my 25 cents worth in the tires of my road equipment.

Nitrogen is mandatory in high flyer-type airplanes so the tires do NOT go FLAT while in the wheel wells. Constant pressures at COLD altitudes. 100 miles high.

John,PA So NITROGEN CHARGED should mean "dry gas".......I assume.

He's a believer , bought a big bottle and regulator set up . I don't pay his bills so it doesn't matter to me , but I'll keep using they free 78% stuff .

Atomic number 7 Nitrogen (N) is oderless tasteless yad yad. Did ya ever notice Shell gasoline is always the higest priced gas, at least where I live so follow the buck. They claim it helps keep your engine clean. Now this is a selling point cause the only way to disprove their claim is dimassemble the power plant which the soccer mom or nerd who buys this leatest ploy aint going to do that. However nitrogen is the reason that you can buy Washington apples in the middle of winter they are kept in a nitrogen rich storage facility, they do it to some meat too. I was told also the reason they use it in gas cause it was left over from not being able to sell it to people to put in their tires?

J-PA did you not say you smoked it from time to time and that is why your posts are just a ramble now and then?

Don't use helium in both front and rear tractor tires like I did I had an awfull time getting that tractor back down out of the barn rafters, had to go up with a ladder and let a little out at a time. then I had to go back up to get my wife down out of the cupalo she was on the tractor at the time, talk about mad, she said she wouldn't have been so mad ifn I hadn't taken that oppertunity to drain the oil while she was up there but that drain plug was right there what would you do.

THANKS.

Since I am a refrigeration ingineer, I flow N thru copper while brazing. WHY? Inert gas keeps pipes cleaner. Then I store apples. Lime absorbs N for "N" Bank if machinery breaks down.
We use about 10 tons of bagged lime in each of our CA cold storages, here.

So, after the CA rooms are emptyied out of apples, we have NITROGEN CHARGED LIME. Good for orchard land.

Moral to the story.....my 9N is not designed for NITROGEN CHARGED GASOLINE.

I run a 79% nitrogen fill in all my tires. It reduces oxidation, compared to straight 02, but is cheaper and easier to find than N100.

Nitrogen is used in commercial aircraft tires to create a NONcombustible atmosphere inside the tire.

Put a loader on 'er. Should keep it down and prevent damage to your valuable roof.

(quoted from post at 05:04:29 03/24/13) Since nitrogen dosent burn how can it improve gasoline?
aybe that the "improvement" is in Shell's profits if some can be convinced to buy it? :?

Hmmm...

I asked why at a local tire store and got the answer that the pressure stays constant with heat and cold changes. Makes sense with the aircraft tires, to a point. It's colder but the outside pressure is much less???

I used nitrogen for air horns at football games on a "victory bell" trailer because it was cheaper to buy the bottles full at the welding supply than compressed air. (I'm talking about bottles with 2000 PSI regulated to about 90 PSI or so).

I suppose the cleaner aspect might make sense but that ain't the cleanest environment to start with.
