Just so happens that I"m working on about the same thing. After looking thru every tractor and equipment house in the nation for on the shelf, ordered one (may need two or more) from Shoupe parts. They take measurements and have them made up. Takes about three days and then add the length of shipping. I had them make up a 1" round axle (squares you can find thousands) cost of mine, 1" round at 40 inches long from bottom side of square nut. I will cut and grind the 2 " square nut to 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". tearing each gang apart one at a time, blasting and wire brush and then painting. Don"t know how many need changed out. Running the gangs loose is what screws up the axles. cost for the axle $89.00 before shipping

I got mine from a local New Holland dealer, book calls for a 15/16" axel... at the time Shoups didn"t offer that size...don"t know if they do now. Got the disc for free so I could afford to spend a little on it. I think it was about $120
