Getting ready to put a new manifold back on my 52 8n side mount. Do you guys recomend using gasket sealer with the supplied gaskets or not?

hows the block look?

hows the manifold look?

very porous?

won't hurt to put a thin smear of hi temp red on them.. though if all looks good I bolt them up dry...

As soundguy said....check the block. If it's pitted (usually around # 4) post back.

I use hi-temp Copper Coat, but hi-temp red would work fine.

But neither one is going to fix an eroded block.

Put some of the copper spray on my truck cyl heads and exhaust headers and been useing 77 Adhesive on pan intake and timing chain cover no silicone except on the intake as FMCO recommends on corners. I know some say dont use copper spray but Fel-Pro of America recommends it highly.

At my day job ( same job for 40 years) I get to play and use some neat chit... Nuttin is gonna last forever but from what I have seen/used (40 years worth of not being able to hide from my mistakes ) this is some good chit for your pizz poop designed application... If nuttin else it may help it get thru warranty then the customer can pay for another manifold gasket replacement...
