the way the manual say buy it will not fire it has been
convertec to 12volt and electronic distributor pls help

You should have spark, regardless of timing. Do you at least have spark?
Timing is done differently depending on whether you have a front mount or
side mount distributor.
Give us a little more detail and someone can help.

Ok, here's how I would check it.
The timing cover is a small round cover held on with one bolt over a hole on
the right rear of the block at the flywheel. Turn the cover to the side and you
can see the timing marks on the flywheel through the hole.
Set the engine with #1 piston (front) 4 degrees before top dead center on compression stroke.
Look to see where the rotor is pointed under the distributor cap.
It should be pointed at the #1 spark plug wire on the cap.
If it is not pointed at #1, we either need to move the plug wires around the cap
so it is, or re-position the distributor or both. That should get you close.
Normally I would check the points opening at this point, but you said you had
installed electronic ignition right? That I'm afraid I can't help with at all.

Just remember that there is two sets of marks on the flywheel 180 degrees apart.

Did you have the dist. out when you were working on it? If so, Why? If not, it is not out of time if it was running before you worked on it. Did you check & set the valve clearance so it has compression?
