i never rely on rusty or painted sheetmetal as a ground.all my lamps have a seperate ground wire run to a solid chassis ground

| | Why do the "bare ends" at the attachment points corrode off sometimes, sorta like the #4 ground rods at the power poles? Better make continuity check once an awhile. ACIDS in RAINS. Paint the wires after attaching grounds. Usually dem bare copper parts. ZINC compounds! John,PA
