52 8n manifold

I have a 52 8n side mount distributor with an exhaust leak. I took the manifold off and discovered it had a crack in the manifold at the #1 cylinder. Is it worth trying to repair or should I just purchase another one? Any members have one they want to get rid of close to NC?

if I had the money to repalce it with a new or good used one I would.

If i lacked the funds.. or was otherwise in a position I could not repalce it.

I'd clean it up as best as possible throw it on the bbq grill and get it hot.. then weld it with a nickle rod or whatever the supplier has for welding cast.. couple choices.. certanium.. etc.

and then peen it while it sets after welding.. leave it in t he bbq grill to slow cool.

SOMETIMES that works.. sometimes not.

Maybe you could find a good used one at a local salvage yard.
They can have a little pitting and still work fine.
They're about $75 or so new, plus shipping unless you find a free shipping place.
If you have more parts to order, add it in and get it shipped with the $9.99
shipping per order deal. (free if you order more than $100 worth)

Are you in Michigan Tom? I buy from RAP locally sometimes. Good folks.
They sell on eBay too if people want to contact them that are not local.
