Parts Dealers

Hey guys, just out of curiosity, have any of you had any experience with parts from A&I? I know they were bought out by John Deere a couple years ago. I am curious because we have a JD dealer just down the road here, and wonder if it's worth getting needed parts locally for a couple bucks more and no shipping cost. I know first hand that the A&I points and condensers come from the land of almost right, but what about their other stuff?

I think you will find that MOST A&I parts are from 'offshore'. I have bought misc. stuff - the prices are good and generally the quality is good. (not great, you get what you pay for) HTH

Careful with each part! check em over good before installing. Freind got a AC condenser for his CASEIH combine that wasn't right. Messed it up trying to mod it. Ordered another after talking to AI and being assured that it was right and that he got a factory defect. It was wrong too, that one got sent back. Then he needed a new steering knuckle for a FWA tractor. The bolt holes were metric while the orginal was SAE. He has gotten other parts that worked fine but it can be hit and miss.

I am an A and I Dealer. Most everything is good. Like everything else, most of it is made over seas, but show me anything that isn't. I got some Genuine JD bearings the other day made in China and a lot of the NH stuff is too. For the most part A and I is good for the price you pay.

I worked for a shop in Canada a couple years ago that built aftermarket combine parts. They were bought out by A&I a few years ago and are now owned by JD. The stuff we made was top notch, no doubt about it. I've been away from there for a while now, so I'm not in the loop anymore. I was just curious.
