I can not for the life of me remove the nut from the ball joint connecting the drag link to the steering arms. The joint just moves with the nut. I have tried heat and penetrating oil and have even tried sitting on the link to tighten it so that the joint doesn't move. I need some serious help!

If you wanna try and save it, go to your local parts store and get a pickle fork (aka Ball Joint Fork). This is used between the ball joint and the steering arm prying up. May take a lot of prying to get the joint to lock up enough to remove the nut.

If not get a cutoff wheel and have at it. Save you some time, but you have to replace the ball joint after...

An air impact wrench sure helps on those.
Try taking a hammer and smacking the tapered part down into the hole so it is tight. Then remove the nut.

Don't know if one of these would work for you or not, might be worth a try.

I would use a dremel tool with a cutoff wheel and cut the nut. If you just get close to the threads maybe on opposit sides(180 out) should be able to split the nut off with little or no damage. Re thread and buy a new nut.
The small dremel wheels are tender and you will break or wear out several but they are cheap.

once the cotter pin is out.. take a hacksaw and cut a slot int he face of the pin.. use a screwdriver in that and a wrench on the nut. heat can help..e tc. all else fails.. cut the nut. then pickle fork the joint apart.. or smack the socket with a hammer with another backing up the joint 180' out.

or .. i guess.. a tire rod end seperator.. ;)
