If you do much buying or selling you are bound to encounter about every type of character. The one I have trouble with is where no asking price is mentioned by the seller and asks for an offer. I make an offer and seller says, "I think it is worth more than that". OK. Good bye. I won't bid against myself. |

| Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeThat fellow is just hoping that someone will offer him more than he as the nerve to ask. I usually turn it around and tell him that he is the seller & only he knows what he will take. |

| Point taken. I try to be fair in my offer based on what I know about the value of an item in general and what I know or can see of the item for sale. My view is that seller does not know the value, is affraid to ask a price (that may be too high or too low) or is hoping to get rich from an uninformed buyers impulses. If the seller can't or won't counter with a price, either an asking price or a firm price, I feel that I'm waisting my time. When time and distance become factors, I'm really not interested. Usually, I can find the item somewhere else. |
