Another challenge- Kohler light plant

Forum Members,
Realize this is an N tractor forum but need any info relating to Kohler light plants. Just purchased a light plant in west central Minnesota today. Anyone that has info or leads on info about these generators will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mr. T. Minnesota

Do you have a model number for the generator? I have a unit for my house that was commonly used for light towers. Mine is a 10cc61 with a ford 4 cylinder power plant. If you have the same unit I have a owners manual in .pdf form that I could email to you. Let me know if that's what you're looking for.

I just double checked the manual I have. It's for 10/12cc, 10/12cz, 10/12ccf, and 10/12cfz models. As I said I have a 10cc61. This manual was emailed to me from my local kohler dealer (which is not very local). I wanted to get the service manual too, but that one was to large of a file to email. Also, I still have the phone number for the dealer here in MD if that would help.

M249,
I knew there would be someone in the forum that would have info related to light plants.
The light plant is a 1949 3A21 3KW Kohler light plant. The current problem is the ignition. Took the distributor plate off this morning and had to clean crude from the points. Still does not spark. Could be the condensor or coil. There are several places that can rebuild mags but want to try it on my own first. May just have to crank it a little faster!!
Have also been on line and found info related to the Kohler light plants.
Any other info is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mr. T. Minnesota

I should have figured considering the location of this post, but I didn't realize we were talking about something that old. The one I have was made in the 1990's. Good luck with it though. Again, I have the number to a "kohler authorized dealer". Let me know if I can be any help.

M249,
Mission control, we have ignition!! Cleaned the point faces as recommended by Standard Mag. in Chicago. There was a deposit of gray matter, not brain, on the point faces and now it flashes a blue/white color. Poured a slight amount of gas into a cylinder and it still has yet to fire. It is a hand crank with auto start which I don't know if I am going to use yet. I may have to add a small amount of oil to the pistons to create more compression. May have it started by the time the Super Bowl is over??
Thanks again for the help!
