I'm driving an hour North tomorrow to likely pick up what will be my third 8N.

He said it was running a couple of years ago but stopped firing....been sitting in a barn since. Don't have a good description and can only assume he knows the differences and it really is an 8N. He is only asking $500 for it....sounds like a dirt scoop comes w/it too.

Can anyone think of a reason that a $500 8n wouldn't be worth buying? I'm thinking even just the castings would be worth that if it was totally worn out/seized up(which he says it isn't).

Absolutely no reason not to get it. That's a heck of a deal. And absolutely no reason not to put a grand or more into it to get it running, if needed.

Good luck with your new find and have fun getting it running!

If the tires and rims are decent it would be worth that in parts around here.
