governor fork

Hi folks I have a 1951 8 N that had some governor issues, fast idle, non responsive throttle etc. I pulled the govenor and say nothing obvious but got rebuild parts any way. It seems pretty straight forward to rebiuld but I"d like to pull the fork off the shaft to check the bearings wear. To me it looks like the pin is in a blind hole surely it isn"t? Do I just drive it out with a pin punch? Are there any tricks to pulling off the drive gear? Any thing else. Eric
