How would grinding the lobes affect the diameter of the journals? What am I missing here? All grinding does is re-shapes the journal to either restore original lift and duration or change it. The base circle of the lobe will be decreased (unles material is added first), but with adjustable lifters this isn't a problem.[/quote] |

| I have had several ground for pulling tractors. You want the profile changed in that case. As for regrinding a stock cam,I personally can't see why you would, Too Expensive. You can buy a new cam for less money. |

| I had a cam reground once, a solid lifter set up for a dodge. I ended up spending more money because I had to buy a pushrod kit to make up for the smaller base circle. I didn't have any problems with wear though. |
