Not Good, Ever happened to you?

Run over my wallet with the bush hog today. That ever happened to any one else?
Probably no one remembers. But last spring I had posted that I won the TCA (Truck Load Carriers) weight loss contest. Loss 58 pounds in 10 weeks. So what do you do with the pants that no longer fit you? Use them while you are messing with the tractor. As was the case today while I was bush hogging. Got into a tight spot and was backing up and seem all these pieces of money on the ground. I thought what the heck? Then I realized what had happened. I had done run over my wallet. In these oversized pants it just fell out.
I picked up what I could. Fortunately my driver license was OK. And my Comdata card (Fuel card) was OK too. Found most of the pieces of the money. Had $56 in it at the time. One Dollar bill I found less than haft. All the other I have at least more than half.
Credit card was runt. Debit card OK. Pilot card was eat up. But enough to replace it. (got $15 dollars on it. T/A card is ok. Got $150 on it. Couldn't find the 1991 silver dollar my Mother had given me for good luck when I left on a plane to got to the Gulf War back in '91. Have to get a metal detector out there it find it.

Back in the "60s, Grandad lost his wallet plowing - found it a few years later. (He was probably on an 8N - he owned one.)

Hope you find that silver dollar...

Mowed a set of WorkTunes hearing protectors. Nearly mowed the second pair a few years later.

Well, as they say around here when bad things happen... "it coulda been worse." Sorry about your wallet and a bad day.

I learned 30 or so years ago tractors and wallets do not mix. When I am home my wallet sits on a shelf along with my check book. If I go some place and do tractor work that means my truck is there so the wallet goes in the truck glove box till I am done. Drop one years ago when on a tractor and have never carried one since when on a tractor

That's very true, Still got my drivers license and fuel card. That's my livelihood. Just got to find that coin now. I've kelp if with me since I boarded that plane. Hasn't never left me. Not a real valuable coin. But I remember that day well when she gave it to me not knowing how the war would go or if we would ever see each other again. Mom is gone now. But I know I'll find it.

don't go near moving part of tractor..
i leave it in the house where the dog might tear it up..
i don't wear loses fitting close and stuff on tractor..

anyway my left hand don't like them moving parts anymore..

I left one of my gloves lay on the transmission by the shift lever while running the bush hog around the pasture......on the next pass around the field I caught sight of pieces of something strange laying on the cuttings from the last pass, then groped around for my glove and could not find it. Luckily it was the left one and I still had a left from the pair from which I lost the right hand one last year. So I still have an unmatched pair of work gloves!
Unfortunately my pants are too tight (not too loose) and I congratulate you on being able to lose weight, although the rate is really fast so hope your health didn't suffer during weight-loss effort. I guess my too-tight pants make me leave the wallet on the dresser unless I really need to take it with me.....sometimes find myself at store checkout with an empty pocket and the store owner doesn't keep a charge-tab in his book like they did in the good-old-days:>)

Yes could have been a lot worse, could have had some-one see it lying in your truck and taken it , then using your credit cards.

long ago when I lost my wallet on my motorcycle,
('stepped' seat and vibration...out they go)
I switched to a chain wallet.
I just tuck the chain in with the wallet if
I am somewhere in 'polite' society
(don't forget it's there if you have to go thru a metal detector)
In my shop or on the tractor, wallet, keys, phone stay in the
house or on the bench. otherwise, they will get broken/lost.
On a tractor, If I think I might need my license or ID in these times,
I color print a copy of my license and stick that in my pocket.

hope you find your coin

oh, yeah!

A few years ago, I had stopped by the bank to withdraw cash to buy an old tractor - 12 new, crisp hundred-dollar bills. I decided that I would bushhog a little three-acre field before going to get the old tractor.

Everything went fine until about the fifth round. I looked down at the ground in front of me and it looked like ole" D.B. Cooper"s final resting spot had been found - money lying all over the ground, along with a few minor things like driver"s license, ss card, credit cards, etc.

Fortunately, no one witnessed me "harvesting the lettuce"! As my old buddy used to say, "if you didn"t see me, then I wasn"t there!"

Lost my cell phone while discing with the 8n one time. Went back after dark with my wife's phone and started calling it. It took till the battery on the phone was almost dead but I found it.

years ago while mowing weed lots in Denver, got to close to chain link fence..caught left hub on fence..threw me off tractor into fence..lady luck was with me..flew back on tractor..foot caught clutch..only a few scratches and bruses..could have been bad..turned wheels around right away..phil

I once ran over my wallet in the garage with a small race car that I was working on at the time. Unfortunately the wallet was still in the pocket of the pants I was wearing at the time. Important lesson about checking to see if something is in gear before touching the starter button.

from about.com, damaged paper money:

What is 'Not' Mutilated?
Not mutilated but damaged currency includes any bill that is CLEARLY more than one-half of the original bill, and does not require any special examination or investigation to determine its value. Examples of non-mutilated bills include those that are badly soiled, dirty, defaced, disintegrated, limp, torn or otherwise "worn out."

These damaged-but-not-mutilated bills can be exchanged through your local bank.

Replacing Mutilated Currency
Mutilated currency is considered to be any bill NOT CLEARLY more than one-half of the original bill and/or requires special examination to determine its value. Most mutilated currency has been damaged by fire, flooding, chemicals, explosions, animals or insects. Another very common source of damage to currency is petrification or deterioration by burying.

Mutilated currency must be mailed or personally delivered to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

Yep - I have also SouNder. Also those black locusts around the edges are always ripping my arms pretty good in addition to swiping my hats. Dropped my cell phone a couple years ago and backed over it with my 350 - broke the glass, but the phone still worked.

Have not mowed a wallet but I did mow over the muffler to my farmall h. Swung into a tree branch, broke off the manifold, muffler was under the mower before I could stomp the clutch.

Yup, BTDT, only with my Woods finish mower. Also lost it once pushing snow and did not find it until spring.
Now, around home in work clothes, I carry wallet in my right shirt pocket, phone and pen in left pocket, truck and building keys in right pants pocket and 3 small key rings with tractor keys in left pansts pocket. If leaving property, Thunder 380 on right hip. Wonder why I have to use suspenders?

I lost my wallet cutlivating corn in 1952, in central Nebraska. My dad found it in 1954 while plowing. It had contained one dollar which was a big blow to me then, as I played baseball every Tuesday evening and I could get 2 Pepsi's and a bag of peanuts for 25 cents, and that was two weeks allowance. I almost NEVER carry my wallet on the tractors to this day!

i had a nice 'giligan' fishing hat I loved. 10' mower turned it to mulch before ai could hit the clutch/brake.. :)
