Spent a cold day in the shop today. Most my time was spent in cleaning up some salvage lumber from our house restoration and repairing livestock feedbunks, but I did get about 3 hours into the next tractor project.

I'm pretty close to being ready to do the split. I took this photo right after I wheeled the 8N into my work area. Space is getting a little tight... This photo is how she arrived at my place. This N has not been run for probably 25 years or more.

What is wrong with the heater in the background ? I light the fire in my wood shop (the auto part has in-floor) at about 8:30 and go to work about 10. The cool part is, the 2 shops are separated by 2 patio doors (1-8' & 1 -10') so the skye lites work in both areas. At 12 I open the doors in between and use a fan to circulate the heat (keeps the cost of the in-floor' down). I DO NOT like working in the cold. BTDT. Cheers !
 
The firewood was definitely being consumed. When I came in for supper the temp was about 50F. The building is an un-insulated 3 car garage with cinder block walls and the outside high today was about 20F. Before I insulate the garage I need to finish our house :)

That rear rim looks in need of some TLC. I have four hat rims like that. Two are ate up around the valve core area. At least one half of each rim could be used to repair another rim if you can cut and weld. One is near perfect. It needs wire brushing and painting. The other is solid but the inner band where the tube goes is needing repair. It may become my first electrolysis experiment.
I don't know where you're at; but, two of my rims came from just south of Norfolk, NE. on 81 in front of the airport. He's got about five dozen N's sitting on his farm. Google earth the area and look for yourself.

Bob, Thanks for the heads up! Unfortunately Norfolk is 370 miles away. I think I'll replace the rim and keep the old one around until the parts are found to repair it (or depending on condition, use it as a donor rim).
